Production Process Of Polyester Microfiber Fabric

Polymer Synthesis
Microfiber polyester production starts with the synthesis of the polymers. Typically, the process involves the polymerization of purified terephthalic acid with ethylene glycol. This chemical reaction produces polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the base polymer used for microfiber.
The purity of raw materials is crucial. High-quality polymers ensure that the resulting fibers have desirable traits such as strength, elasticity, and smoothness. These polymers are further processed to create a semi-liquid state suitable for extrusion.

Extrusion and Spinning
Once the polymer synthesis is complete, the semi-liquid polymer is then extruded through small nozzles, known as spinnerets. This process is called melt spinning. Spinnerets have multiple holes which determine the filament's diameter and shape.
Special melt spinning conditions are essential. Highly selected polymerization and spinning conditions are required to produce low linear density polyester. The fibers are rapidly cooled upon extrusion, solidifying into fine, continuous filaments. The filaments are subsequently drawn to align the molecules, improving their tensile strength and durability.

Texturing And Finishing
In the final stage, the produced filaments undergo texturing and finishing treatments. Texturing involves crimping the fibers to give them bulk and elasticity, which is crucial for end-use applications like textiles for cleaning and apparel.
