Cotton fabric, originally just an ordinary neutral term, now seems to be a commendatory term. Using cotton as raw material, the fabrics produced by textile technology are collectively referred to as pure cotton fabrics. Any kind of fabric has its advantages and disadvantages, and pure cotton fabric is no exception. Today, let's take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of pure cotton fabric:
advantage:
1. Good heat preservation performance: cotton fiber has low thermal conductivity, still air can be retained between fibers, and good heat preservation performance.
2. Good hygroscopicity: Cotton fiber can absorb moisture from the surrounding environment and make itself soft.
3. High heat resistance: below 110°C, the cotton fiber will not be damaged, and it is more wearable and washable.
4. Good hygiene: Cotton fiber is a natural cellulose fiber, which is non-irritating to the skin.
shortcoming:
1. It is easy to wrinkle and difficult to arrange evenly. It must be ironed before it can be worn out. Pure cotton fabric has no elasticity, so it is easy to deform.
2. If the washing water treatment is not done well enough, the shrinkage rate is very high.
3. Although the hygroscopicity is good, the moisture drainage is very poor. After getting wet, it dries very slowly, and the wearing comfort decreases a lot.
4. The more you wash, the stiffer it becomes, and the softener is difficult to improve.
Generally, because of the better moisture absorption and air permeability of cotton fiber, it is recommended to choose fabrics with higher cotton content for next-to-body clothing.
In other cases, it should be selected according to the specific needs. Not pure natural expensive fabrics are good, and chemical fibers have obvious advantages in color, texture, and crispness.
